Methmailprivate email

Privacy policy

Updated:

Version 2. In effect from 2 October 2026.

Who is responsible for the data

Methmail is operated by METHMINE LLC, a company registered in Wyoming, USA. It is responsible for this website’s data. We don’t give the names of people. Courts and authorities in the USA, where the company is registered, in the countries where our servers are, and in the countries where our team members live, can compel us: what they’ll be able to demand.

What data this website processes

This site has no trackers, ad pixels, third-party scripts or cookies. The only thing it stores in your browser is the theme you picked.

The site’s server keeps a request log: the hour, the method, the path, the response status, the size and the domain you came from. It has no IP addresses and no browser data.

A path is recorded only if the page exists: the address of a page that doesn’t exist may hold something a person typed, so a marker takes its place. The log also records a campaign tag if you came through one of our links, and which address of the site the request reached: the regular one or the .onion one.

The server’s error log records only the date and hour, the level and the kind of error, with no IP addresses and no page addresses.

What we will keep about Methmail email users is listed in the inventory.

Why

We need both logs to keep the site working: they’re how we find and fix errors.

The basis is our legitimate interest in keeping the site working. These records hold no IP address and no browser data, so we can’t link a record to you.

How long we keep it

  • The request log: 7 days.
  • The error log: 7 days.

Cookies and browser storage

The site sets no cookies. If you pick a theme, your browser remembers it, and it isn’t sent to our server.

Who we share data with

The site’s server is at the hosting provider servers.guru (a US company), in a data center in the Netherlands. The site’s traffic goes through the provider’s and the data center’s network, so they see visitors’ network addresses, like any provider on the way; we don’t record them. The site’s names are served by the DNS provider Cloudflare, a US company: it sees which DNS server asked for our name, usually your internet provider’s or a public DNS service’s, not your device. The site’s traffic itself doesn’t go through Cloudflare. We don’t share the site’s data with anyone else.

Where the server is

The site’s server is in a data center in the Netherlands, at a US hosting provider.

Your rights

The site’s logs hold no IP addresses, browser data or cookies, so we can’t link a record to you, and that means we can’t find your records if you ask us to. If you have a question about this website’s data, write to us and we’ll answer.

How to reach us

Questions about data: privacy@methmail.com or privacy@methmail.cc (the same mailbox).

What Methmail email will keep about you, why and for how long is in the inventory. We need this data to run the service we agreed on, to protect against abuse (logs as listed in the inventory, 7 days), and where the law requires it (payment records).

You’ll be able to get a copy of your emails and keys by exporting them in settings, and to delete your account there too. Anything else we keep about you, we’ll show, correct or delete if you write to privacy@methmail.com. You can complain about us to the data protection authority in your country.

You can use Methmail email from the age of 16. We don’t ask for your date of birth.
